Travel Insurance in Israel predominately covers medical issues that may arise while abroad and must be purchased prior to the date of departure. Should you have pre-existing medical conditions, it is prudent to arrange the insurance well in advance in order to receive approval from the insurance company's underwriters.
It is important to note that in order to issue a travel insurance policy in Israel, one must be registered either with a Kupat Cholim (HMO) or private health insurance plan.
For people traveling with expensive and valuable items (e.g. laptops, jewelry, etc), in order to ensure that you have full coverage while abroad, it is recommended to extend cover for those specific items on your home content's insurance policy to "All Risk Global Cover". This is because comprehensive plans have limited luggage cover. For those who are not interested in covering their personal belongings, there is an option to reduce the premium by removing the cover for the luggage.
Should the need arise to extend your trip, you will need to complete this form and send it back to our office before the last day of your original travel policy.
